PAYMENT
POPULAR DISH
Unlike a lot of sports bars, 200 Fifth boasts a full menu not limited to pub grub and finger food. In general, the cuisine is American or Continental, focusing on seafood, steaks, and Italian dishes.
UNIQUE DISH
The four types of Buffalo wings and ribs are worth the pile of napkins you'll need to eat them, but there are also many good fork-and-knife options like blackened catfish, steak au poivre, and penne arugula. Entrees are more expensive than typical bar food, but appetizers are affordable and there's even a "bargain menu."
DRINKS
With 40 beers on tap, and many other beers by the bottle, there is something for everyone. Sure, you'll find the usual draft choices, such as Guinness, Stella, and Yuengling, but take advantage of the variety and try one of the more obscure Belgium beers or the house brew, 200
Fifth Lager. 28 kinds of wine and 4 kinds of champagne, there are also 11 special martinis. Try the Coney Island Breeze, a concoction of cranberry vodka, Midori, grapefruit juice, and sour mix. The curiously named Violetta packs quite a punch with Stoli vanilla, Godiva chocolate liqueur, and Kahlua. If the martini and beer
selection doesn't impress you, there are many alcoholic "ice cream drinks" on the menu as well.
SEATING
There are many tables on the restaurant side of 200 Fifth, but there are also booths and counter seats on the bar side. During weekend sports events, the pool table is often replaced with more tables and chairs.
AMBIENCE/CLIENTELE
200 Fifth has a solid neighborhood following and, during football season, Sunday games bring out the regulars. The restaurant side is more family-oriented, but there are several televisions and a small bar there, too. All ages and sexes are represented, but like most sports bars the largest contingent is twenty-something males.
Extras/Notes
200 Fifth offers a kids' menu and there are paper and crayons on each table on the restaurant side. Happy hour is Monday through Friday until 7 PM; $3 beers and bar drinks should make you very happy indeed. There's a pool table in back, and weekend nights there's a DJ. With 30
televisions, you can watch almost any game, match, or contest, and that includes soccer, NASCAR, golf, even boxing.
