GETTING THERE
Although valet parking is available nightly, there's plenty of street parking, metered parking and parking lots in the vicinity.
PAYMENT
POPULAR DISH
This is a diner, so go for diner staples. The burgers and huge sandwiches definitely speak for value. Plus, the all-day breakfast is sometimes just what you're looking for. Save room for dessert, though. They're rich and totally worth the
calories.
UNIQUE DISH
To truly emphasize that American family tradition, Big Pink offers something called the Big Pink TV Dinner. Comprised of 6 compartments, a stainless steel tray comes loaded with food.
Choices vary per day, but expect corn-on-the-cob, biscuits and greens to appear.
DRINKS
There is a full bar with all the typical pickings, but why not try a milk shake or smoothie for old time's sake?
SEATING
Ample indoor seating is available in the large, industrial diner setting. But if you're one of many area tourists, you'll likely choose to sit outside so that you can really burn to a crisp while you eat.
AMBIENCE/CLIENTELE
This place is anything but fancy, so everyone feels comfortable. Booths and long tables emphasize the idea behind the original diner, which is comfort food for the masses. Be it late night buckets of chicken or corn dogs, this is not for
the diet-conscious consumer. People that come here are laid back and mostly just looking to satisfy their cravings.
Extras/Notes
Interestingly, the man behind Big Pink, Myles Chefetz, also runs 3 other local joints. Each very different, they are Nemo's, Shoji Sushi and Prime 112. Although Big Pink may have set the tone for inexpensive comfort food back in '96, Chefetz
has since proven that he knows his way around a kitchen. Diners also enjoy a big screen TV at the bar as well as many other television sets around the restaurant to keep up-to-date on current events.
