Street parking available, but not copious. Best bet is to take the T to the Charles/MGH stop on the red line. From the station, simply walk down Charles Street about three blocks. Figs will be on your right.
PAYMENT
POPULAR DISH
Pizza the way it was meant to be. A variety of tasty pies available on their regular menu, but make sure to peruse daily specials as well. Great salads, entrees, and paninis. You can't lose!
UNIQUE DISH
Lots of clever topping combinations, from eggplant and ricotta to calamari, arugula, hot peppers and lemon aioli. But they still keep it real for the basic Margherita lovers, too.
DRINKS
Fine selection of beer and wine.
SEATING
Small cozy, brick-laden space. Call ahead for large
parties.
AMBIENCE/CLIENTELE
From business lunch to Friday night chow down. Casual dress. In contrast to Mr. English's other restaurants, Figs is easily the most relaxed and economical. That said, the fare is far from dull.
Extras/Notes
There are worse places to bring your bambinos, but keep in mind that this is not Pizza Hut. This is no place for the plain-cheese pizza fan. Relaxed waitstaff are a great source for recommendations, and maintain their breezy grace when you knock over your wine glass in a fi t of epicurean ecstasy.
