Parking available for those with resident stickers. Your best bet is to take the MBTA to the Central Square stop on the Red Line. From the T station, head southeast on Massachusetts Avenue. Turn right at Pearl Street, and follow for about 3 1/2 blocks. Baraka will be on your right.

POPULAR DISH
You cannot experience great couscous until you've sampled it here. Locals push the lamb.
UNIQUE DISH
With a diet that combines the best from cuisines such as Mediterranean, Italian, Egyptian, Arabian, and Turkish, the entire gastronomy of North Africa thrills the palate. Baraka Cafe serves up some of the region's best dishes, as well as
providing a twist on some familiar favorites, like tuna salad and lamb chops. Defi nitely order a side of pomme frites with spicy harissa.
DRINKS
The Moroccan green mint tea with roasted nuts is defi nitely worth a try, as is the fragrant rose water lemonade. Baraka is NOT a BYOB place, and Baraka's very charismatic, Muslim owner, Alia, forbids alcohol on the premises.
SEATING
You will fi nd the seating to be very snug. Not ideal for parties of four or more. Waitstaff does not go to any great lengths to accommodate large parties.
AMBIENCE/CLIENTELE
Cozy and casual. Great lunch and dinner dates. Not the best for the toddler crowd.
Extras/Notes
Closed between 3 PM and 5:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. The cash-only policy can be frustrating, but luckily Mass Ave. is crawling with ATMs.
